Savile Inquiry Police Question Man In His 80s: " man in his 80s has been interviewed by detectives investigating the Jimmy Savile abuse scandal.

The suspect, who is from Berkshire, was questioned under caution on suspicion of sexual offences after attending south London police premises by appointment at midday.

He is being treated as part of the investigation that does not directly relate to Savile, the Metropolitan Police said.

It comes after officers searched an address in Berkshire on Saturday.

Four arrests have been made as part of the national probe into alleged sexual offences by Savile and others.

Glam rock star Gary Glitter, comedian Freddie Starr, DJ Dave Lee Travis and a man in his 70s have been arrested and bailed.

Scotland Yard, which is leading the inquiry, has said officers are currently dealing with around 450 potential victims, the vast majority of whom claim they fell prey to Savile"
